I am fit, adventurous and wise. Last year I backpacked through Colombia and Ecuador with two laptops, my camera and my zoom recorder. I was on a mission to spend a month volunteering deep in the Ecuadorian Amazon at the Tiputini Biodiversity Research Station. The entire experience was amazing. Since then I've been making environmental, educational pieces from my footage and I feel like my work has only just begun. The opportunity to train with Brian Rapsey's professional mentorship is a dream come true. I know it would improve my work beyond measure.
Colombia speaks to me of sassy attitudes and verdant valleys, boys with AK-47 sticks giving smiles and the thumb, heavy air where the neck prickles and the feet leave, colourful smiles, playful hellos, community elbow to elbow. Old growth forest full of mystery deep and traditions like strong rope woven into spirit thread flowing from the cowboys on their proud steeds as they pound the street. And, layer upon layer of stories whispering to be told...
