China through my Lens

China through me Lens

China | Monday, November 7, 2011 | 4 photos

Photography has always been a passion for me. I grew up in a small country town in South Australia, attending the local Area School where I studied photography as a subject through Distance Education. Ever since then I have loved getting out and taking photos, mostly of things people would not normally look at. Getting out and taking these photos enables me to forget about everything else that is happening and just go to a place between me, my camera and the image I’m trying to capture, it’s a feeling hard to explain.

My photos that I have submitted are from my trip to China this year, they express the parts of China that i saw as something that I find so remarkable and memorable to me. Throughout my trip I saw many different and interesting things that it was hard to decide where to aim my camera at times. These photos are from all across my trip starting in the city of Nanjing at the first PM Thom through to Nine village Valley 3000metres above Sea level. My photos tell the story of my trip through a camera lens and what it saw while I was over there.

These photos best show the type of photography that i love simply peaceful and effortless. The way I captured these photos was with an old Pentax MEsuper SRL Film camera that i took on the trip. Photography to me is the skill of being able to see something and capture it in a way so that it will have an impact on someone. I hope my photos have an impact on you as they do to me. If I were to be chosen I would use this opportunity to look, learn and grow not only as a photographer but as a person as well.
