Protecting the nature through photos and experience

My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

Worldwide | Friday, September 2, 2011 | 5 photos

As I originally came from Indonesia, visiting Tasmania Island allows me to see and experience a whole new different environment. Sub-tropical ecosystem is different yet amazing. Cradle Mountain was the place, located in northern part of Tasmania, this place was form by the years of glazier melting process. This is the reason why in Cradle Mt. there are so many small and big lakes. The coordinate location of Tasmania that so far from equator, allows me to take star trail photo that creates a circular pattern. I also went to Buton Island, located in southeast part of Sulawesi, Indonesia, and having a great week of diving. I use my scuba diving license for experience the beauty beneath the sea, and Buton is one of the most beautiful places to go diving in Indonesia. Relatively rare touched by human, the underwater scenery still present a colorful coral reef and diverse categories of fish.

My passions beside photography are adventure and interacting with nature, that’s why I always want to go to remote places around the world, take photograph of the nature, and use my photos to share it with my society. I believe there is always something to learn from each part of the world. I hope by winning this scholarship, I can share through my photos and experiences with my friends and society about the nature in Africa, and what could be learn to help Indonesia, my beloved country, to protect the nature. My dreams to preserve Indonesian nature can be start from learning other country effort in preserving their nature.
