It's hard not wanting to capture every moment of life. Time ticks away and our lives are constantly changing. Photography allows us to hold on to moments. When the shutter clicks, it becomes immortal.
I studied film and television in college. I love the art of creating something and telling a story. Photography has always interested me, but I was never formally taught. You don't have two hours to make a person feel a certain way or encapsulate a story. To me photography is a constant struggle to find a way to capture a moment with all its emotions within a single solitaire image.
Muay Thai happened by chance, but it turned out to be the experience of my entire year living in Thailand as a teacher. I studied for a year at a gym. I was able to see true Thai culture and the importance of this sport for the country. Besides the obvious fighting, a Muay Thai gym is a community. Orphans are taken in, events are held, and spirituality is evident.
My words do it injustice; but hopefully my pictures relate to the viewer the experience, and show my potential and enthusiasm for this art form. I would love the opportunity to learn more about photography and techniques to fully capture the moments in life that I want to share with the world.
