My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I have been a teacher for over 25 years and I have integrated my passion of photography into the classroom. The greatest role I can aspire to, is be a role model to young children and share with them the values of acceptance and tolerance as they view the world in all its wonder and beauty and the people that inhabit it. To encourage them to go on a journey themselves when they are older.
The beginnings of my passion started on a wheat farm on the Darling Downs, Queensland, from my father who pulled out the camera on a Sunday to take a family shot under the huge tree near our house. He also invited relatives to view his black and white movies of happenings on the farm. It was a source of great laughter. Tears would run down our faces. What memories!
Yes, I am 56, and I feel like this is a second beginning for me where I can be the student and not the teacher. It would be such a joy and a thrill.
Why should you pick me! Well. Why not! I am full of adventure, love to travel, fit and live and dream photography. To me it is a need not a want. I am also a people person. It would truly be an amazing adventure.
