Imagine yourself at your place of work. You have trained and studied hard but it just isn’t fulfilling enough. This is the exact situation I am in now. When I was 18 and I left high school I had no idea what I wanted to do.I decided to go on a holiday with some mates to the USA. One month later they all dropped out, leaving only myself to go alone, alone? What a thought, I had never been on a holiday myself; I had never been on an aircraft! I still remember one night before going to bed, I was thinking about my life and decided, I am only on this planet once (for all we know) and before I leave I want to see as much of it as I can. It took millions of years to create this planet and I wasn’t going to see it all? I booked that trip, went by myself to the USA and it changed my life.When I returned I knew one thing, I had found just one part of what I wanted to do.
So guess what? I am still looking for that other part of my life. That’s when I found this competition, to me photography isn’t just about the camera, the lens or the photographer, it’s about the right moment. I want to catch that moment for all people that won’t get the chance to see it.
