I am Jan Buitizon,a Petroleum Engineer and has been a fan of National Geographic since I was a kid. I am reading National Geographic Magazine since highschool. I have always wondered how the NG photographers were able to take high resolution picture of little animals like insects or get a close up pictures of eagles perched atop a high tree - all these without the animals even noticing it. I've always been an avid viewer of the shows in National Geographic Channel. I even forget to eat my meals at times because I am so hooked to the shows .
Going to college, I even applied for BS in Geography, wishfully thinking that it would someday land me a job in National Geographic Channel.
I love to travel and experience new culture. My love for science, nature and photography has always been innate to me.
What was documented here is family vacation to the resort island of Boracay in November 2009. The pictures were taken using a digital camera, Canon IXUS 80 IS that I bought for myself.
First Pic: Many said that you can see the most breathtaking sunset in the Philippines in Boracay. I was able to take this picture of a sailboat passing by the setting sun.
Second Pic: Vacation house of pound for pound king and number one boxer in the world – Manny Pacquiao. The Santorini inspired house stands precariously along the sea cliff.
Third Pic: For only 150 pesos, the locals will print your name in one of the sandcastles. It was a hefty price to pay for a picture so I only took a shot of one of the sandcastles.
Fourth Pic: Alongside the beach lays coconut palm trees and parasols for the beach goers. I took this picture early in the morning in my first day in Boracay.
Fifth Pic: A little girl in cute bathing suit runs ashore because of the impending rainstorm.
