My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Yemen | Sunday, January 13, 2013 | flickr photos
I was born in Slovakia, I am an ethnic Hungarian.
Thus I think I have a first hand experience of the necessity of being open and tolerant. That's what I've learned (among other things) as a child.
As regard my present studies, I'm currently doing my PhD in Arabic studies, so that is what takes most of my time.
I spent a year in Yemen, it was a fantastic experience.
Photography became my hobby and my passion so I take pictures. Recently more and more. I always have a little compact camera with me, which I'm planning to change for a better one. (compact, pocket size as well)
I don't believe photos are able to change the world. Some might, but photography in general - no.
I think photography is a way to know yourself and the things around, the subject of your photos. By sharing them this becomes true for the future viewers as well.
At least that's how I conceive it.
And last, but not least, photos are beautiful. And everyone loves beatiful things.
I ought to tell here something about myself as well.
I'm planning to take photo trips in the future, not necessarily as assignment, just for my personal joy. And for the subsequent joy of sharing what I have catched with others.
