Naga Baba rejoices Ganges. For these extreme sadhus who live away from modern society, this is one of the most exciting moments in their lives.

I come from a small town in south-west Poland. As a child, I spent many evenings with my older brother in his small darkroom, assisting him with developing film photos and bringing him coffee. Although I experienced photography so early in my life - the spark didn't light up the barrel. It was music that was my passion for most of my childhood and teens. Living in a relatively isolated area, during the pre-Internet era, I was more inclined to dwell in abstract worlds by playing guitar and video games rather than exploring the forest nearby. When I graduated from high school, my photography journey had began, although I didn't know it yet. I moved to the regional capital to study and my horizons expanded. Leaving Poland for the US and later India changed my life irreversibly. Losing my father and mother at the age of 3 and 20 respectively, meant that I was looking at other people as sources of answers about life; social and cultural survival. I began traveling globally. Gradually, I learnt that contact with people from other cultures via photography allows me to rediscover and redefine myself which makes me learn and grow as an adult.

For me it's not an option. It's my life.
