If you doubt me when I say, "All the women of Beijing are beautiful," perhaps it would help if you accept the statement in the way that Ghandi meant when he said, "If you don't see God in the next man you meet, you might as well stop looking."*
Or, perhaps I'm not so high-minded as that.
And when I say that I regret that I have but one life to devote to finding love among the women of Beijing, perhaps you can accept it in the way that Nathan Hale meant when he said, "I regret that I have but one life to give for my country."
