My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I am a person who believes strongly that everything in life happens for a reason. Almost a month ago I saw a video on YouTube of how, the National Geographic magazine, gathered scientists in order to capture the beauty of “The President Tree”. I wanted to be part of that team and wished to have such an opportunity in life. A few days later I heard about this competition and I felt gratitude for everyone responsible for this great opportunity. I do not know if I am an exceptional photographer but I love taking pictures. As a geologist I had the opportunity to travel a lot and although my mind has forgotten the geological aspects of the places I visited, I still remember the beauty of those places and my constant attempt to capture in a single photo my feelings of what I had in front of my eyes, and my disappointment, of course, of when something went wrong. I needed a reminder of what I really love and now I have it. Dreams are essential part in life and I am grateful that I have started dreaming again and desiring something that the idea of succeeding in it makes my eyes sparkle. Taking part in this competition is a small but very important step of coming closer to my dream.
