The home is all about routine. Scheduled excercise, meals and curfews. This June the home threw an elaborate party for their 25th anniversary. A lot of preparation and excitement preceded the day. Here, Rosita exchanges the simple cotton dress they wear daily for a pink sequined gown. "I want to wear this to my funeral!" another woman joked.

Precy and Judy are two residents who both have trouble speaking. Precy communicates through unintelligible grunts but gestures with her hands and eyes. You can tell she is joking when her grunt is followed by laughter and a smirk. Judy is a former stroke victim whose hands reach out to grasp words that seem to have escaped her. Though they cannot keep up with the banter of the other women, they both like to station themselves in the middle of things-sharing their thoughts with anyone patient enough to listen.
