    A room of coffins at the back of the home is a quiet reminder of how all our stories will end. by: bnbermundo Views[681] The home is all about routine. Scheduled excercise, meals and curfews. This June the home threw an elaborate party for their 25th anniversary. A lot of preparation and excitement preceded the day. Here, Rosita exchanges the simple cotton dress they wear daily for a pink sequined gown. Precy and Judy are two residents who both have trouble speaking. Precy communicates through unintelligible grunts but gestures with her hands and eyes. You can tell she is joking when her grunt is followed by laughter and a smirk. Judy is a former stroke victim whose hands reach out to grasp words that seem to have escaped her. Though they cannot keep up with the banter of the other women, they both like to station themselves in the middle of things-sharing their thoughts with anyone patient enough to listen. by: bnbermundo Views[823] The home is not one of those places that feel heavy upon entering. There is a quiet peace with a tinge of melancholy that seems to characterize everything. From clothes hanging on a lonely line to a room full of rusty wheelchairs to a soft light seeping through whispy curtains. Almost as though everything is romantically forgotten. by: bnbermundo Views[817] Bahay Pag-ibig (House of Love) is a home for abandoned senior citizens whose families no longer take care of them. Sometimes due to financial constraints sometimes by choice. It houses, feeds and cares for 60 elderly men and women with no where else to go. by: bnbermundo Views[1676]
