The home is not one of those places that feel heavy upon entering. There is a quiet peace with a tinge of melancholy that seems to characterize everything. From clothes hanging on a lonely line to a room full of rusty wheelchairs to a soft light seeping through whispy curtains. Almost as though everything is romantically forgotten.

Bahay Pag-ibig (House of Love) is a home for abandoned senior citizens whose families no longer take care of them. Sometimes due to financial constraints sometimes by choice. It houses, feeds and cares for 60 elderly men and women with no where else to go.

Precy and Judy are two residents who both have trouble speaking. Precy communicates through unintelligible grunts but gestures with her hands and eyes. You can tell she is joking when her grunt is followed by laughter and a smirk. Judy is a former stroke victim whose hands reach out to grasp words that seem to have escaped her. Though they cannot keep up with the banter of the other women, they both like to station themselves in the middle of things-sharing their thoughts with anyone patient enough to listen.
