I have always been fascinated by the concept of photography and the idea itself that I could frame an instant, and it has pushed me to always get better, driven by a growing thirst for knowledge while trying to capture its true essence.
I honestly still don't have a definitive answer for what the true essence of photography really is, or how it affects me, and I think I like it that way..always being one step behind, always trying to capture a concept..If I had the knowledge I'd stop thinking and I would have nothing less to express.

I think the best photography is the one that evokes memories..of course when we see our own pictures we can link them all to events in our past, and they'll trigger whatever feelings those moments remind us of, or just strike us for simple beauty..say, a picture of a beautiful flower..but when we see pictures from other people we obviously can't know the story behind the picture, and we are less emotionally linked to it..

The chance to win this scholarship would be a once in a lifetime opportunity to dig deeper, and take my first real step towards turning a heartfelt passion for photography and travelling into a profession, and a way of life.
