My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

In such mind blowing location where nature and society merge, animals do not fear people, instead, are even more curious than oneself.
After an amazing surf where tortoises swim below your feet in transparent turquoise waters and sea lions share some waves with you, all I wanted to do is going for a walk just me and my camera. Get lost, feed my eyes and capture some stills, loosing track of time, making it just a word.
I never had the ability for painting but luckily for me the Man who created this world gave me the possibility to paint through my lens. It just requires looking out of the box, playing with your eyes, looking things from a different angle, till you find it.
I specifically enjoy capturing nature, I believe it’s because I am a person who appreciates certain moments of solitude where my imagination does not get influenced by other individuals, instead every idea and thought is 100% mine, triggered by what my eyes receive.
The word now a days is complicated filled with variables where I get constantly lost, but what I love about photography is going back to bases, just one frame capture of something that called my attention. It’s a way of staying in tune with ones senses, that’s something you lose a little bit by living in the city. Then I guess that’s what attracts me about nature, it’s something that doesn’t depend on time or on us, it just exists.
I admire the work of any photographer that can amaze me and reflect everything I mentioned before, and there’s nothing I would desire more than to be given this opportunity of learning from Jason and showing the world through my eyes in Nat Geo.
