An experience like this has been on my bucket list since I was about 15. I was introduced to photography by my father on his 80's film SLR and have carried this techniques over to my current DSLR. I have always avoided post-editing until it was required as part of a university course, believing that if the greats of photography (like Ansel Adams) could achieve perfection in their images with simpler technology then I should at least try to emulate this. I have always been drawn to nature and wildlife photography over portraiture, I'd rather take the time and sit rock still for an hour so to capture a bird then to be inside a studio.
