Life at M1 Forest Village

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

India | Wednesday, May 29, 2013 | 5 photos

I am a development worker, presently working for an NGO in Darjeeling, West Bengal, India.
Photography has fascinated me from my school days(1994). The first camera that I used was my Grandfathers box camera and I enjoyed shooting with that. Then I bought my own point and shoot camera ( analogue). The development cost of the film was expensive and by the time I had enrolled in College I had practically stopped taking photographs.
Approximately 13 years later sometime around 2011 working for my present employer got an opportunity to organise a local photography workshop. It was after going through the workshop my interest in photography was reignited when we were told not to bother about the techniques but shoot from the heart. In this workshop we learnt about composition, lightning effect etc and during this time we learned a lot about what kind of photographer we were too.
Since then I have embraced photography with the enthusiasm of my schooldays and have been shooting a lot . I know that I still have a lot to learn and this would be a perfect assignment for me to develop as a phtographer.
