My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I'm somebody who is constantly excited about discovering everything the world has to offer, who is increasingly finding a voice with which tell others about it, in the form of photography. I love the challenge of going to a new place and trying to represent it photographically in a way that is respectful of what I see there and the people I meet, but also stamped with my own style and vision. Despite improvements that I've made to my photography in the past few years, and becoming much more focused on story-telling when I am shooting, I'm aware that there are still huge gaps in my knowledge and consistency and that I have lots more to learn. The opportunity of going on an assignment with Jason would offer the most amazing opportunity to do this in a totally immersive environment. I'd like to see how he maximises his chances of getting the frames he wants; how he sizes up a scene when he arrives somewhere new; how he relates to the subjects that he's shooting; how he makes best use of the light and time available to him. I'd like to watch his technique; to see what set ups he chooses for which scenes. This really is an incredible opportunity to start turning dreams into reality.
