My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

My name is Bianca and I am half Canadian and half Venezuelan.
I have lived in several countries due to my parents curiosity and life style. This nomadic life style also rubbed on me. Exploring new countries and cultures gives me an unexplainable rush and feeling of freedom, I am working as hard as possible to do this professionaly. Also meeting new people and seeing the world trough their lives makes me more aware of other people's reality, for which I feel blessed with what has been given to me. Currently, I work full time helping refugee claimants in Canada to pay for my part time studies, in the field of digital imagery.
I am also working on my portafolio to apply in the photography degree at the Concordia University. Despite my efforts I haven't gotten the chance to work assisting photographer's yet, I do not give up. Assisting a professional photographer such as Jason Edwards would be a once in a life time experience and I would be eternally greatful if this opportunity was given to me.
As a hard working person, I am willing to do what ever it takes to excel in this art. Photography is everything to me. And National Geographic has been my goal and aspiration ever since I picked up a viewfinder camera at the age of 10. Over a decade later, having such a prestious name in my curriculum remains my goal and aspiration. Beyond that, the knowledge is the true price to win.
I hope for thee who will win this opportunity, to make the best out of it, and thank you for offering so much to amateur and aspiring professional photographers.
Sincerely,
Bianca Lecompte
