Gobi Desert, Mongolia

We are back in the land of internet! Stopover in Sainshand to hop on the train to Beijing after 3 days in the Gobi. Very interesting. We rode Bactrian camels, took a tour of a monastery in the middle of no where, where its purported to be "good energy" from the earth, kinda like Sedona, Arizona, I suppose. Also saw the meditating caves, dinosaur bones and petrified wood in the middle of the jungle. Yesterday, we visited with a nomadic family and then climbed "Wish mountain" but I forgot to right a wish to burn at the top. There were some cute wild goats on the mountain- they get drunk becuase people offer alcohol to the mountain gods and the goats drink it. Someone had tied a blue scarf around one of the goat's neck- for good luck, I guess. I'm looking forward to Beijing and staying at the orphanage. I can't wait to meet the kids! I'll be able to do some medical evaluations on them and perhaps buy some medicine for the sick ones.
