Travelling with women-a bummer for Dad Day 8

USA | Wednesday, 21 July 2010 | Views [234] | Comments [1]

Mom and I both had trouble falling asleep last night thinking about driving the Million Dollar Highway. It is a 21 mile drive that climbs to 11081 feet. It is 2 lanes with no shoulder and no guard rails. We met 2 people on the jeep tour yesterday who told us how scary it was. We were NOT excited. The topper for us was Bill Volk telling Dad it was a white knuckle drive.

Dad's comment about it? "How can you be within spitting distance of the second most dangerous drive in the country and NOT drive it?"

Our comment-easily. We convinced him that we would have a much better day taking a scenic drive to Telluride that did not make us want to throw up.

Hi all - am so enjoying living vicariously thru your travel adventure. I can relate to your break problems as we experienced something similar coming thru the mountains into Gatlinburg. Can't wait to read more!
