My Scholarship entry - Scanno, into the bear's den

Travel is what shapes me as a human being. Since I was very little, my parents tried to take me around the world and as soon as I could I started going on adventures by myself, realising how difficult it can be to get your head around a new place and its own culture. I see travelling as the best way to learn about people, their history and their traditions, and I believe there has to be a great level of respect whenever meeting new cultures. Studying architecture at university increased my sense of observation and need to properly engage with the place by talking to the local people and sharing their stories through my camera lenses. By winning this scholarship I hope to achieve a greater knowledge of understanding the place and on how to share my experience to the rest of the world with top skills. I want my photos to be meaningful and powerful; finally, by going on the other side of the globe, I hope to properly capture the real essence of the place, because so far from my normal routine. Travelling is what excite me the most, it is what makes me feel alive: discover new places that none thought of before, see things differently, make them special, understand them, share them.
