On our way from Orange walk in Belize to Belize city we stopped by at the community Baboon sanctuary. The home of the black howler monkey
It is an interesting community and grass-root operation at its best. We where greeted by one of the founders and got a good guided tour. Even got to feed one young monkey.
It is quite a fun going into the growling competition with the monkeys.!
Be sure to stop there, check out the Black howler monkeys and support the locals through buying handcrafts or local wine. The carving artist Elvis is a funny guy to chat with, even though you don't buy any thing from him.
