I am a photographer with a simple goal. That goal is to inform and show the audience parts of the world that they might otherwise never see. I don’t consider an image to be good enough until I would hang it on my own walls, and I am my own biggest critic.

I have developed a very clear photographic style that produces clear, clean images, often using a tripod and long exposures. I focus on shapes, line and colour in much of my work, as I feel this is the best way to inform people about the world. Much of my inspiration has come from photographers such as Ansel Adams and Jim Zuckerman

The strongest aspect to my photography is my willingness to go to places that others would not, whether that is in the middle of the desert, wading up a river or venturing out in adverse weather conditions. This willingness has resulted in some of my strongest images. Indeed, putting a lot of effort into getting to a difficult place often results in a much better photograph.

I see this competition as the ideal next step in my photographic journey, as it will increase my knowledge of how to capture travel images show them to the world. It will also be a major step in starting a career in photography
