My Scholarship entry - A Walk Through Old City

Hello, my name is Bekah Mulberg. I am a 20-year-old artist living in NYC.
I am a natural-born social worker and have a strong curiosity for the world around me. A fellow traveler once gave me the nickname, "Protector of Perspectives," because I often empathize with those I do not know personally. I think this is an important trait for a photographer to channel.
My greatest passions in this life include storytelling (dance, theatre, film, photo), healing therapies (yoga, massage), human nature and traveling.
When I travel, I become a fearless explorer - hitchhiking on the Big Island Hawaii, riding the motorcycles of Israeli natives through Tel-Aviv and living outdoors on an off-the-grid farm for months at a time.
I have for many years felt called to visit Peru to learn more about the medicinal benefits of Amazonian plants and fruits, the indigenous peoples and their routine, and to utilize my Spanish skills in a native speaking country.
