My Scholarship entry - Kids from the village

My name is Jason Reberger from Australia. I travel out of a backpack for the last year and a half. I have been widely travelling across eastern europe and the middle east. I tend to take things slow, get a feel for a place, smile constantly and get to know people. My 'motto' is to integrate and infiltrate! I try my best to constantly push myself out of my comfort zone. Once i get too comfortable somewhere i know that its time to leave but sometimes it gets quite hard. I really love photography but not the sort of thing like taking a photo of a museum or statue but for taking photos of people, usually on the street and most times either without their knowledge or just putting a camera in front of someone. I really love to watch people and see their actions and emotions as their days play out. I feel a strong amount of empathy for everyone i meet and i try my best to capture it through my lens. I really think that this is an opportunity of a lifetime and as i myself take more photos the more and more i want to learn. I would love to spend some time with a professional and pick their brain. To start a career in making photos of people is my dream. But where to start!? Here? :)
