Water. The source of all life for the land and it’s wanderers.
After the deluge of rain lasting for three days, Banff National Park came alive. The mountains seemed taller, the grass greener and the flowers bigger - and apparently I wasn't the only one who noticed.
The vast openness and immense size of my native Canada made the sky feel a little closer, and it almost felt as if you could easily wander over to the next valley or neighboring mountain peak. But looks can be deceiving, for even if the road less traveled were attempted, I was quickly reminded that this is 'where the wild things are'.
With deceptively soft eyes, Canada's apex predator glanced up effectively communicating that a boundary was approached. This moment of pause was deafening despite the only sound present was that of the shutter clicking and the moment seemed to last infinitely longer that the split second it took to take the shots.
I'm a native of Canada currently residing in Chicago, Illinois with my wife, Elizabeth. I began shooting in 2007 but had the 'bug' since childhood. I've passionately pursued photography by reading, studying and of course taking lots of pictures. Additional, I volunteer my services to local religious groups and community services. Photography has also kindled my sense of adventure as my wife and I elected to travel to more active vacations spots like Central America to see the Mayan ruins which required travel by river boat and modest hiking in lieu of the "normal beach" vacations we used to take. The Kingdom of Bhutan is a mystical part of the world which I could contribute to by reaching out both as a photographer, but perhaps more importantly, as an ambassador of the western way of life by bringing both good-will and friendship with an open mind & heart. Thanks for your consideration and enjoy the photos!
