My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Photography to me began with taking pictures of my surroundings and my environment, with natural photography being my prime interest which stemmed from the fact that I have always appreciate the wonders nature has to show in every domain, thanks in part to National Geographic's wonderful documentaries that I had the fortune of enjoying during my formative years as a child.
Gradually my interest evolved into documenting the social ills in society. This happened when I was mid way into my engineering degree and finally two years later I realized that this is what I want to do, advocate issues through the visual medium, to show the world the harsher side of life as well as show the side of human potential to fight it out. It enables me to empathize with the victims associated with the issue and helps expand my own understanding of human nature in general
Even when traveling, I search for the opportunity to create a comparison between different sets of environments, meeting new people, getting to know them and their culture.
Through this scholarship, I intend to learn the maximum to best show human emotion, life and their activities through the visual which can be amazingly powerful
