Kashmir : A Paradise Regained

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited - Kashmir : A Paradise Regained

India | Saturday, January 12, 2013 | 5 photos

I would like to submit a selection of five photographs depicting the resilience of the people of Kashmir valley. The images taken over the years show how the frequent incidents of terrorism and violence traumatized them. In the game of political brinkmanship Kashmir is always used as Pawns(01). Whenever the relationship with our neighbor worsened in the past the people of Kashmir paid the price. But their prolonged tryst with trauma seems to have been ended with a feeling of liberation and joy. As the thick pall of uncertainty that shrouded the Kashmir valley slowly evaporates , we witness the tourists once again streaming into this paradise on earth. I take stock of the situation prevailing in the valley at this crucial juncture with cautious optimism. As the cloud of uncertainty disappears from the sky of Kashmir, we have the harbingers of Peace(04). Everywhere in the valley people look relaxed and cheerful. And finally , the paradise we have so foolishly lost can be regained(05).
For your information, I have been visited Kashmir valley 6 times in last 12 years, Which have been prompted me to share the “ Pain, Anguish and Hope” of the common people of Kashmir valley.
