A board
saying “24 HOURS HUNGER STRIKE, 43 DAYS GONE”
I could never ignore at the market place of Leh, the capital of Ladakh on the
first day when I landed there. “Echoes of the valley” would never have happened
if we (accompanying friend Neil satyam and me) had chosen the site seeing of
the beautiful landscapes only than running after this unexpected problem of the valley.
We both went restless and the only time we could spend was to gather as many
information as possible on the Tibet issue.
It was
difficult to commute in a terrain like Ladakh, where public transport was a
crisis, especially when you are interested in the non-tourist places for a fact
finding. However, it added more charm to the travel and became the most stimulating
journey in my life so far.
As a
documentary maker I aspire to travel such places and bring home such stories those
are thought provoking and must watch.
