I had been at the monorail station opposite the protest site for about 3 or 4 hours. It was sunrise and commuters were going to work. The soldiers had arrived about an hour before I did.

I was in Bangkok during the Red Shirt Protests a few years ago. This was taken at about 3:00 AM. The protester is watching the army set up in the monorail station at the opposite side of the road.
