My Scholarship entry - Memory of Simla

I live in Mumbai, a crowded, relentless city I survive by leaving often. A film editor, so I must sit in a pigeonhole unaware of seasons changing outside. This hurts.I love the great outdoors. I'd have little to give if I didn't receive it from sun & skies. So I've wondered & found answers, joy in travel & photography.
I wish to capture life as lived. When I visit a place, a relationship is established with people, creatures, terrain. I wish to preserve this account of lives, times, journeys for me & those who'll perhaps never live it, not the same way anyway.
I travel as much as I can within means. In my dreams I want to see 100countries, I've seen 4.
Sometimes I wait long to catch a bird in flight, exasperates fellow travellers so I travel alone.I've learned patience & I'm learning to see. Given all this & a storyteller's heart, I wish to be a travel photographer.
I need to imbibe the rigour. I try not manipulate integrity of image in an instagrammed world, letting one question guide- Does it look how it felt to me? But I do need grasp of post-prod to enhance expression. And a new country, 5th-1/20th my dream-whooOp!
World is made not of atoms but stories. True!
Dreaming of ice sheets.
