My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Australia | Monday, January 14, 2013 | 5 photos
At 28 I am now working in a desk job. I am now considering the rest of my working life and I have to say photography has been on my mind for months before I saw this being advertised, having studied it at school and it was my favourite subject. When I think of some of the most amazing experiences of my life it is photographs that help us remember, through grief photographs can help, I know when I was at my sickest (guillain barre syndrome), photographs were part of my emotional healing. They make us laugh, cry and feel what we felt when we took the picture.
National Geographic magazines have been a constant in my life, with my grandparents farmhouse and my parents house full of the amazing pictures of the world developing my imagination in ways that words could not. To be part of that would be an adventure I could only dream of, to meet the people behind the picture would be to meet those that shape our understanding of the world.
The photographs I have included are all from my grandparents farm, which although now vacant, still feels like home. It is Summertime in Australia and hot and dry comes to life!
