An Island of Beauty

If they say a picture tells a thousand words then I have a million words I could share about Bali. It’s the simple things in life we cherish and it’s these select few photos that show why so many are drawn to this island of beauty, and why I love photography.

For some, being in front of the camera is their ideal, but for me I feel at ease behind a lens, as though the world is there waiting for me to capture image by image. With each experimentation of a differing angle, zoom, focus or lens I fall more in love with the magnificence that is photography. I take pride in my photos, and for every out of focus, poorly lit, over exposed photo I capture, I yearn for the next time the camera meets my eye so I can get it just right

Photography is my absolute passion...as well as a running joke amongst those who know me..."I won’t take my camera, Katherine will have hers"...and having only recently purchased my very first DSLR and leaving 4 fabulous compact digital’s behind (yes I do take them absolutely everywhere and sadly they haven’t always come back alive)…..the world is my only limit.

The opportunity to learn from and be mentored by Jason Edwards would be that once in a lifetime opportunity that would forever cement and increase my love for capturing the moments in time. It would be an absolute honor to be chosen and give me the opportunity to learn, grow and adapt my skills to new techniques, landscapes and experiences, with the ultimate dream of one day having one of my very own pictures published, the absolute cherry on top.

So if you think my pictures tell 5,000 words….then I want to learn to tell 10,000.
