In Lithuania, honey is called ’medicine from the sky’. It is used both internally (from substitute for sugar to honey and cucumber salad) or externally (from hair mask to heal cut wounds on your skin).

Honeycombs with open cells are put into honey extracting machine. “Some people don’t understand while I am still using this old, rusty, hand-operated honey extracting machine” says the beekeeper. “They suggest me to buy a new, automatic apparatus to make the work easier. But beekeeping is an ancient art; by modernizing the machines, the whole process would lose its charm. And most importantly, there is nothing more meaningful than using the same machine your father once used.”
