My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Hello Jason,

I am a 45 year old happily married man with a couple of great kids. I have been a high powered executive for over 20 years and have been extremely fortunate to visit some of the most amazing places in the world with my job.

I am also a creative musician and song writer. Writing music and lyric with flavour, colour and emotion is a paradoxical release from the pressure of my work. I find this release so emotionally rewarding.

To capture these emotions on film says so much more than my words can convey. There have been times when I have witnessed a subject which begs to be recorded in history, at those times in my life when you are least prepared. However on that rare occasion when the planets line up in your favour, I can capture a moment, freeze it in time and pass on to my children and my children's children.

If chosen to accompany you to the exotic far east I would clear my minds eye of all the prejudices of my normal life and absorb the entire culture, the intensity and the fragrance of modern civilisation interwoven in ancient history.

I will be intoxicated on the freedom to express myself with the guidance and mentorship of a world class photographer.
