The Spirit of Dalian

Hi, I'm Alex.
For the past three years I have been taking a Media Production degree at the University of Lincoln (I graduated yesterday with a 1st). In the last two years I have been freelancing as a film producer/director, mostly in the corporate sector. I have been quite an involved member of my university; frequently working as a student ambassador at various events.
I love film making, it's all I've ever wanted to do and I put my heart and soul into it. I have won multiple awards, including a Royal Television Society student award. As a result of my dedication the university has granted me several opportunities filming at home and abroad - most recently when I travelled to China to make a short documentary. I had 15 days to conceive, produce, shoot and edit a film for presentation, working to a strict brief and tight deadline. A shortened version of this film is what I have submitted today.
My ambition is to be an international freelancer. I'm not hung up on monetary gain and if I could spend the rest of my life filming abroad and seeing the world I would be so happy. The problem I have is a severe lack of funds. I seek out opportunities like this so that I may be able to improve my skills and my portfolio and make a career in international film production, but such opportunities are few and far between.
I'm a chilled out, easy-to-get-along-with guy and I really, really would appreciate the chance to participate in this trip.
Thank you so much for your time,
Alex
