    Dhampur is a small town in Uttar Pradesh, India. Traveled from a coastal city in Tanzania, I never expected something that is more laidback. The township’s red brick houses and concrete houses give you a glimpse of the usual feel of this small Indian town. This modest and down to earth locality shows you “wheels” weave daily interactions. Bicycles, motorcycles, buses, scooters, buffalo or horse drawn carriage make the day roll out. Views[999] One of the most popular transportations in this town is a motorcycle or most popularly called by locals as “bike.” Most of the time those who are well-off possess a bike or it is used by men to carry on with their businesses. Views[307] Another alternative to move around short distances within the town is a horse drawn carriage. Views[240] These men are on their way to either collecting grasses to feed their home buffaloes or harvest sugarcanes with their tractors. Views[198] Almost everybody in Dhampur owns a bicycle. It is one of the most convenient ways to move around the town -- going to school, running errands and making a living. Once you hear some bells ring, that signals a “cycle” is approaching.
