Serenic Mist

My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

Worldwide | Friday, October 15, 2010 | 5 photos

These photographs were taken during my recent visit to Avalanche near Hill Station Ooty in Tamil Nadu (India). For me photography is a born passion and as an avid traveler I had been clicking pictures as a remembrance of all my visits. Being a law student its difficult to take time for travelling alone, as such I use various legal conferences as an excuse to set me towards natural beauty. Though this visit was a different experience. I had already visited North East India last summer but still I was in search of peace. The day I reached ooty, I go to know about avalanche as a virgin natural surrounding that challenges travelers to capture its beauty. The slippery journey on a hired two wheeler was a mixture of courage and excitement, still the very idea of reaching a place that is free from human interference lead us to the place. The mist in the air, boarding schools on the way and increasing altitude welcomed me to this natural abode. These pictures represents coming of age for me. My experiences and personal loss during that time has turned this visit in to a pilgrimage for me. The natural beauty I attempted to capture showed me scenes of a human life and my growth from a boy to a man. The place led me to speak what I could never say in the real world. The place represents "free world" to me. The philosophical discourse that I had with my companion on Nature, Women and Wine still remains my most wonderful memory till date. These pictures describe innocence of the surrounding and my thirst for nirvana. I believe that my desire to fulfill this thirst will be achieved through a visit to the land of thunder dragon to portray dazzling pictures of the nest called as Bhutan. My candidacy for this scholarship is my struggle for perfection and dedication to capture.
