My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

My passion for photography was born out of my love for travel, global awareness and documenting my experiences. And I feel like this life purpose has been the driving force. What I like about photography is being able to tell a story succinctly and effectively. Other than the adrenaline rush from waiting and capturing the perfect moment, I enjoy going out into the world, instead of staying home and learning it from a screen. I feel that level of interaction necessary to the travel experience.
I would like to continue discovering and understanding our world through photography.I just want to present an honest story of a place and it’s people. But most of all I hope to use photography as a catalyst for understanding.
Though my skill level is at a basic level, I’m willing to learn of new and better ways to improve myself. I believe photography goes above and beyond the obvious, but can represent an ideal and has the ability to be transformative. Of course, it would be an out-of-body experience to explore a place like Oman. But more than anything, I would just love this opportunity to learn and be inspired.
