My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

The ability to take people where they could not imagine going, and allow them to see things they have never seen before is the most remarkable thing about photography. I have always had a passion for photography and dreamed of taking pictures for a living. However, the realist in me convinced myself this could never actually happen. So when starting school at the University of Arkansas I decided to major in General Business. A semester into school it was apparent to me that I was unhappy. I could not settle and give up my dreams. That led me to switch my major to Journalism and try to enhance my knowledge of photography. Now I am trying my hardest to make my dreams become reality. I revel in capturing the beauty of God's creations and all of life's wonderful moments. Too often people take the world we live in for granted. Photography is a way for me to take in and cherish my surroundings. I strive for my captures to tell a story. To be mentored by Jason Edwards is a reward in itself, but to also experience hands on what it is like to shoot for National Geographic on location is a dream! Receiving this scholarship would take me one step closer to making my dreams become reality.
