My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I am applying for the Oman Travel Photography scholarship because I have a story to tell. My ambition in life is to become someone influential so that I can change the way this world works. However, my ultimate goal in life is to live life to its fullest extent and have no regrets.

Photography has been an out of body experience for me. It has been my absolute pleasure to click the capture button and record moments that are not going to come back. It amazes me how much I can know by just looking at a photograph, especially those of strangers.

My story starts at my first photography tour, with my uncle. He asked me to notice the ambience and the passing of time. I was very young back then and thought the concept to be vague. The last shot I took was not with the camera but with my eyes - a mental image of an old man carrying a little boy on his back. The man was so old and the boy was so young. I thought the exposure was not good. The whole ride back, I couldn't help but realize that I chose not to tell their story. I was a fool and I now have one less story to tell, one less moment and one more question in my life - "whatever was the story of the old man and the little boy?".
