My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

Worldwide | Monday, September 20, 2010 | 5 photos

Photography became my passion. It showed me so many ways to live a happier life.

When I felt alone, because no one of my friends had time, I took my camera and went out – with no special destination.

I also dared to travel on my own.
When I was walking around with my camera, I was able to enjoy simple things. My eyes captured different things to make great pictures of and I felt more creative. Life became more varying than sitting at home and watching TV. I felt free. (pic 1)

I could, at some point, make time stand still. It always made me sad, that nothing lasts forever. And although many things change – with the help of all the taken pictures I am able to remember the happiness of specific moments, wonderful places in foreign countries and people I met; and feel grateful. (pic 2)

I was also able to show people their beauty. There are so many different people all around the world and it’s amazing how beautiful ones you can find. I don’t mean the” typical models”, but people with something special or strength in their eyes. (pic 3)

These photos are from South Africa. Traveling is a special feeling that makes me feel alive.

I would be so happy to get the opportunity to go to Bhutan. To visit the country, it’s nature, people and beauty. To learn, about the possibilities in photography and to be able to make even better photos. I have the motivation to learn new techniques and to wait for a good picture – for example animals or the sunset. (pic 4,5)

In the future I want to continue traveling and to show the beauty of differences.
