Asia Nichols is a freelance writer from the Bay Area, Calif.
Since 2011, she has backpacked with her husband across Southeast Asia, India and Nepal, often living in remote villages and enjoying the colorful food and folklore. During this adventure, she immersed herself in the local culture and practices such as building calf houses in the deserts of Rajasthan, rolling laddus for Hindu rituals in Tamil Nadu and performing traditional dances at the Ganges River in Kolkata. Her works, inspired by these experiences, have appeared in outlets including Ebony.com, The New York Times and Whole Life Times Magazine.
Recently, she returned to the U.S. where her passion for exploring local cultures continues.
