Lotus Temple

INDIA | Thursday, 28 May 2015 | Views [182] | Scholarship Entry

Lotus temple! How much? I asked.30 rupees. Frustrated from work place I wanted to escape..42 degree and Indian summers - both intolerable but less torturous than news channel office Soon I was there. Walking on green grass maintained by recycled water, looking at giant personified lotus structure..Families, couples and tourists were collecting bags to submit shoes.I didn't need that..I was alone like always.Esscoose(Excuse) me! I heard suddenly. Make a line and switch off phones ,keep silence and don’t disturb others. It was the local instructor telling people to maintain calm.
A big hall with marble and wooden benches! What is this now?? More frustrated I asked myself. Should I leave? No its hot outside. So I sat and settled. People came and went. I was expecting this temple to be like other typical religious places but it was not so . here you are not part of mass prayers. You can sit and meditate to discover your inner self but who allow you to do so.( May be I was too frustrated to criticize crowd or was jealous because they had company with them to enjoy) Anyhow I tried to calm down myself.
This is Lotus temple of Delhi, open for all. It is shaped as lotus and pools to reflect leaves.Sitting there I began to think in latent way. This small journey is like journey of life. Strangers will come and leave. Some making you happy while other making you sad,you have to be like lotus, living in dirty waters but remaining beautiful, pure, tender and undefiled by surrounding. Not letting the outer world dirt to affect your inner soul where love, peace and god himself reside.
I roamed inside freely looking at every minute detail of building. Joint operations by human brain and hands have done wonders. There were some notes written at every corner that I of tried to understand but could not. They, in short meant that a human should always remember god. I wandered and sat and repeated.
I came out of hall, Calm. People were clicking selfies and groupies. I don’t have a phone with selfie feature. So I try to click with nature's camera and save in nature's memory card.
Wondering like gypsy in building I was tackling my random thoughts that had no connections with each other. They were free like a bird in sky. I wanted to be free too. My thoughts were like a wanderer who don’t stay stable for a long time. I had came out of temple hoping to stay detached like lotus yet involved with flowing waters at workplace next day.
