Arnhem Land, Northern Territory, Australia

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Garry Djorlom is an Aboriginal elder from Oenpelli, Western Arnhem Land, Northern Territory, Australia. He’s a softly spoken character with a warm, friendly nature. Like many Aboriginal elders, he’s also a storyteller. “If you have a story, don’t put it in your pocket and leave it there, take it out and share it with your family”. This particular image depicts Garry telling a story about how the echidna got its spikes.

Hi Cathy!

My name is Missy, I took this photo of Garry while on holiday.

I'm sorry, I do not have a picture of the pool for you but maybe you can contact the people at the Injalak Arts center. Someone there could be able to get a picture for you. Their email is info@injalak.com

Kind regards,
Missy
