My three best friends and I had always planned to go on a big adventure through Europe and the UK together. When I was asked to be a nanny in London it was ideal. The awesome foursome then had planned to go to a 3 day music festival in Ireland...

On the 7th of July we set out from London to Liverpool (England). The car trip was great, the first time we had all been together at once since November 2009. We stayed in a 4 bed hostel in Liverpool and debated over whether my birthday (July 8th) should be celebrated in UK time or Australian time. I said both! They tried to get me worked up by choosing to celebrate the UK date, but then when that date arrived telling me that my birthday celebrations were done! On the 8th of July we set out on the ferry from Liverpool-5 hours- to Dublin, Ireland. Perfect food for my birthday-buffet brekky and buffet tea!!!! We slept, played games, took pictures and ate. I was so happy that I wasn't sea sick!!! The boys made me feel special when we got to Dublin, after checking into a hostel, taking me to a traditional Irish pub for some Guiness! Then onto a classier pub for Cider. The next 3 days were spent in Naas, at the Puncheston Race-course about 30 minutes south of Dublin. We set up camp, didn't shower and the toilet paper situation was somewhat reminiscent of my South American travels! It rained alot, the lush green grass and open areas became filled with squelchy mud-thank goodness for my wellies-alot of fun, felt like kids playing in the mud all day-not really caring how dirty or wet we became:) Was lucky enough to see:

Festival Day 1: Vampire Weekend; Stereophonics; Jay-Z and David Guetta.

Festival Day 2: 3OH!3; Dizzee Rascal; Florence and the Machine; Kasabian and Black Eyed Peas.

Festival Day 3: Earth, Wind & Fire; D12; Hilltop Hoods; The Temper Trap; Faithless and Eminem.

We then came back to Dublin feeling that we needed showers desperately! But we were hungry too so chose to stuff our faces in a village on the way through to Dublin called 'Kill.' Onwards to Dublin where we treated ourselves to a nice apartment in the heart of the city with lounge room, kitchen and bathroom. Very fancy. Very fun! Felt so amazing to be clean. Spent the second night in the same hostel we had stayed in at the beginning of our Ireland adventure. During this time we explored the city sights as much as we could be bothered. We were very exhausted after all our wet days and nights dancing in the mud in our gumboots ("wellies") after all!!!!
