My name is Arif Setiawan, 27 years old. I learn photography as an enthusiast in 2004.
Why I should be chosen?
1. I need to upgrade my camera, and the scholarship worth a great prize. I have a Canon 350D and a 24mm lens.but haven't enough money to upgrade my camera. I need a better camera to conduct my project. Currently, I have several on going project. All of them are my personal project, mostly about my society in Indonesia. My interest are about daily life, cultural shifting, energy issues, and documentary photography.
2. I need to learn professional work process, side by side, and direct. From project research, photo shooting process, subject approach, post production, editing, pitching to media or art buyer, etc. I self-learn photography and its process. Trial-and-error method I applied make me slow to achieve ideal work process. Last year I won a scholarship to join Foundry Photojournalism Workshop. After the workshop, I try to apply to work at magazines, but none called me in after all. So I decided to create some project, and after it finished, Im going to show it to some editors. The same thing if I won this scholarship, Im going to continue all of my photo project.
