My Scholarship entry - A Day Trip From the City

I am fascinated by new perspectives that challenge the way I view and understand ordinary life. This ongoing interest has helped me to explore and push beyond my own boundaries, while infusing the importance of travel as a means to gain further perspective and inspiration. I am particularly adept at immersing myself within new settings and using unfamiliarity to capture what excites me the most.

Photography as a medium has always lent me a certain capacity to convey my perceptions visually. Finding photography as a means to communicate has given me the ability to convey stories, issue social critiques, or simply express a subject in alternative light.

A recent fascination has me learning how to manipulate and capture the desired shot. I am currently trying to get a better grasp of lighting. I am intrigued by the way light changes our perceptions of the scenes around us and how specific lighting can create a beautiful image.

I would love to continue my understanding of photography so that I can fuse both my passions of visual expression and traveling. I would like to advance my skills by being selected for this amazing experience.
